The Story behind the TRX | Alwyn Cosgrove

I always recommend the TRX fitness program to my customers. It is a great way to stay in shape!

Randy Hetrick had a problem.

As a special ops squadron commander deploying on ships, submarines and safe houses, he needed a way to keep his team in world-class shape without having access to world-class gyms.

So during a deployment in Southeast Asia, Hetrick grabbed some parachute webbing and began stitching away.

He anchored the straps, and, using his body weight for resistance, started doing presses. And flys. And curls.

The prototype for his TRX Suspension Trainer was born

Fast Food As Addictive As Heroin, Study Confirms

I found this article to be quite the eye opener when it comes to fast food and the body.

The latest study, published March 28 in "Nature Neuroscience," likened the affects of high-fat, high-calorie fast food to those of cocaine or heroin, in animals at least.

The researchers showed that the pleasure-center in rats brains were overstimulated from the fast food similar to an addict's cocaine binge. Eventually, the pleasure centers became so overloaded that rats needed more and more food to feel normal, according to Paul H. Kenny, an associate professor of molecular therapeutics at the Scripps Research Institute.

The Most Unhealthy Foods in Your Supermarket part 1 at Good Health Naturally - StumbleUpon

Groceries stores have so many options to choose from. It can be difficult to know which foods are good for you and which foods are not.

1. Margarine

The process used to make a liquid oil opaque yellow and spreadable produces an incredibly unhealthy product that hardly qualifies to be called a food. It doesn’t matter if you start with the best quality extra virgin olive, the final product is still an unhealthy food.

2. Breakfast Cereals

These cleverly marketed, attractively boxed ‘foods’ are in my opinion one of the most unhealthy foods in your supermarket.

More About Abdominals

Your rectus abdominus is the muscle that makes up your six pack. It runs down the center of your stomach and helps flex your lower spine.

Your external oblique’s extend from your lower back across the sides of your abdomen. You flex your trunk with these and assists with breathing. Especially exhaling.

Your internal oblique’s are deeper and let you rotate your torso and bend sideways.

Your erector spinae are cable-like muscles that line the back of your spine and extend up to the base of your skull. They work with your other core muscles to keep your spine stable when you bend and twist.

Transverse abdominus is within the lower half of you abdomen. They stabilize your pelvis. If you get strong here, when you trip over a throw rug on the floor, you will less likely nose dive to the floor!!!
